Design Approach:

The design ethos taught at Cal Poly, of site-specific architecture that performs well in its local environment, still drives how he approaches all his projects. The term sustainability gets used quite a bit today, but typically is used to describe systems and components that are tacked on to buildings, as an afterthought.  When approaching a new project, Greg’s goal is to make it part of the base design of the building, such as locating a structure to promote natural daylighting and cross ventilation rather than relying on mechanical ventilation and electrical lighting. If done well, these features will elevate your experience in the space. Beyond the performance of the building, he spends the bulk of his time trying to make sure that no detail is overlooked because he truly believes the small details are what create the joy and magic in a building for the owners and users.

The design services offered by G Coleman Architect cover every phase of a typical project from design inception through construction completion.
